5 Tips To Gear Up For a 5K

Slow Down Vary you pace during your workouts - stretch out your legs by increasing stride length and turnover rate (strides) for 50-100 meters several times during a run.

Take it in stride Add "strides" to your workouts about 2-3 times per week - they teach your muscles to operate more efficiently as a faster pace. This will have an effect in a short period of time (2-3 weeks).

Listen Be cautious to listen to your body and heed any new pains or tightness that changes to your workouts may bring on - the vast majority of folks over-train.

Rest Remember, your hard workouts don't make you faster, the rest AFTER your hard workouts does!
